Services to the veteran is
very important and
should be of the best
quality.

There still is a
tremendous amount of
claims and appeal cases
from our previous
periods: WWII, Korean
War, Vietnam War and the
Persian Gulf War, as well
as our Peace Time
Periods of injured and
non-injured veterans.

There are well over two
million veterans and their
families that live in the
State of California and a
very large portion of
these veterans live in
Southern California,
especially in the Inland
Empire.

The State of California
leads the nation in
veteran population, and
this number will increase
and even double within
the next ten years. This
will continue to put a
strain on the U.S.
Department of Veterans
Affairs' resources,
budget, staffing, and
workloads, and in
meeting the demands of
these veterans.

It is time for the Veteran
to get the best service in
resources in the Appeal
filing process with the
U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs.
DEMOGRAPHICS
In the State of California, there are
three Regional Offices and a Sub-
Regional Office of the Department of
    Veterans Affairs.

The Inland Empire is comprised of two
    counties: Riverside and San
Bernardino.  It is serviced by two
regional offices of the United States
    Department of Veterans Affairs located
in Los Angeles and San Diego.

In Northern California, there is the
Oakland Regional Office and a Sub-
    Regional Office located in Sacramento.

The VA Healthcare System, the primary
VA Medical Center that serves the
Inland Empire is located in Loma Linda.
It provides medical care and treatments
for thousands of veterans and their
    beneficiaries.  This is supported by
    established clinics located in Corona,
    Sun City, Palm Springs/Palm Desert,
    Victorville and outside contracted
    medical facilities.  The other medical
centers are located in Los Angeles,
    Long Beach and San Diego.

Within these counties are the following
    military installations: U.S. Army National
Training Center, Fort Irwin; U.S. Marine
    Corps Logistics Base, Barstow; U.S.
Marine Corps Air and Ground Combat
Center, Twenty Nine Palms, and the
March Air Force Reserve Base in
Riverside. There are hundreds of Army
    Reserve and National Guard Units
located in cities and towns throughout
    these counties.

All of these units are or have been and
are being deployed to Iraq, creating a
new population of injured veterans and
    veterans of this war era.
